30 Day Challenge: Day 6

On a happier note than my last post, let's get on with the challenge.

Top five favorite movies.

Well this first one is no secret. I am obsessed with Titanic, it's my favorite movie of all time. So romantic!

Next would be My Sister's Keeper, my second favorite movie of all time. It's a touching story that makes me cry every time.

Another movie I love is The Time Traveler's Wife. The ending is really sad and I wish it ended differently but it's a good movie anyway.

Wow, five. I can't think of anything else at the moment...oh! Salt, with Angelina Jolie. Really amazing movie! I love pretty much any movie she stars in. I'm hoping there will be a sequel considering the way Salt ended.

Last one, hmm...? I'd say Mean Girls. Remember when I was mad about the sequel to Mean Girls, Mean Girls 2? Well, it's because I really love that movie! Seriously, one of the best movies by Disney and one of my favorite movies of all time.

If you haven't seen any of these movies, please get off your butt and go out and find them! You will not regret it.

P.S. How funny is this? "Jack is back". LOL, right...

My Sister's Keeper

I have been so obsessed with the movie "My Sister's Keeper". I'm sure many of you have heard of it if not already seen it. But for those of you who haven't, let me tell you about it.

The movie is about a family with three children. Jessie, the oldest, Kate, the middle child, and Anna, the youngest.

When Kate was only a baby, they took her to the hospital to check out the strange bruising on her back. After several tests, she was diagnosed with Leukemia. Her parents were horrified. Kate needed a blood cell transplant to survive, but none of her family members were a match. Her parents did the only thing they could; have a genetically engineered baby that would be a perfect match for donating to Kate.
That baby would be called Anna.

Ever since Anna was born, all they ever did was take things from her and give it to her sick sister Kate. They took her blood, they took bone marrow, anything that Kate needed to live.
As the years went by, Kate grew very ill and Anna grew up to understand what was going on.
She didn't feel loved by her parents. Like they only cared for Kate and were just using her to keep Kate alive.

So Anna came up with enough money and hired a lawyer.
Claiming she wanted to have the rights to her own body: medical emancipation.
The family went to court and Anna defended her case. Her brother Jesse was also there, and had had enough. He told everyone the truth. That Kate, the sick sister, had asked Anna to let her die. Because she was ready and not afraid. Kate knew her illness was ruining her family, and that Anna deserved to be treated better.

So she asked Anna to file a case, so she didn't have to donate her blood, bone marrow, or kidney to her anymore.

Kate lay in a hospital bed for months. She was dying, everyone knew it. Her mother refused to let her die. She wanted to do all that she could. And finally, at the end of the movie, she had to let her go.

If you want to know what happens, you have to watch the movie. It's too intense to give away. Out of all the times I have watched this movie, I can not stop myself from bursting into tears.
