2 Years Later...

Cupcake

Can you believe it has been two years since my first post on this blog?

TWO YEARS.

That is such a big amount when you say it but living through it is so much faster.

I have shared more with this blog than I have wth any of my friends, family, or even my therapist.

Its like an open diary for you all to read.

Sometimes I look back and think "I shouldnt have posted that" or "I cant believe I said that." But in the end I know that I can freely say anything I want to and none of my readers will judge.

I haven't gotten any comments on this blog, but I keep up with my stats and know there are silent readers out there. Maybe even some that are going through what I am going through.

Thank you all so much for sticking with me and thank you to those who read my posts.

I appreciate you more than words will allow me to express.

Let's see what the rest of the year brings!

Blog Makeover!

Notice anything different?

I hope so!

Talking about my room makeover got me inspired to re-do my blog, and you won't be surprised to see that the color palette of my dream room is the new theme for my blog.

I absolutely love it! It's a lot easier to read, more soft and refreshing, it's so pretty now.

It actually showcases my personality rather than hiding it in the dark background. Just perfect.

I'll be playing around with it throughout the next few days but for now, here it is! I'm especially excited to work on the header.

30 Day Challenge: Day 22

Something big going on in your life right now.

Right...because my life is so exciting. *sarcastic tone*

Well, what's kind of exciting is the success of my blog.

No, not this blog.

My nail blog. I posted a link to it a long time ago so if you can still find it, great. But I'm not posting it again.

I have a three digit number of followers (I will say...I have well over 800 followers.), over 100,000 page views and my posts get over 100 views in it's first week.

I get comments all the time on my posts about how I have inspired people and that I have given them motivation to do better on their nail art.

I'd say that is pretty big.

It makes me feel special, loved and admired.

Something I don't normally feel.

I really love all my readers and enjoy anything they tell me.

I am also getting nail polish collections and products to review on my blog and companies offer to host giveaways on my blog.

It's such an amazing feeling.

This is the most famous I will ever get. (;

30 Days Challenge- Day 19

The meaning behind your blog name.

I created this blog to have sort of an online diary. I wanted something where I could express myself without anyone knowing about it.

So what better way to do that than to anonymously blog? I first created this blog with the name "mintybaby.blogspot.com" but I found that name to be obnoxious and changed it to "allthingsminty.blogspot.com".

Minty is the name my friends call me. It's part of my middle name and I guess it just went on from there. The "allthings..." part is just because I randomly talk about everything.

From sex to track to nail polish to food. Whatever is on my mind.

I am pretty pleased with this blog name, so it probably won't change for a while.

Perfectionism

Alright, you're going to think I am insane for this, but...

While I was in class today, I had the time to create a small schedule of everything I needed to do when I got home.
I did this because I'm always incredibly busy or overwhelmed with things to do and not enough time to do it.

So today I left plenty of time to catch up on all my favorite shows (Criminal Minds, Nikita, Pretty Little Liars...) as well as catch up on the blogs that I follow (Red Carpet Fashion Awards, Bright Lights Big Color...). I also left some room for watching videos on Youtube that are in my Subscriptions.

I'm a perfectionist in the way that everything must be planned out perfectly and performed even more perfect. If not, I'll be disappointed in myself.

Here's my schedule, which I'll probably use all week...

I know it sounds stupid and just plain weird, but I promise it works. If it didn't I wouldn't have time to do this post. (8:30-8:40 zone)

Back to the point of this post, I suggest you try this out if you are very busy and never have the time for anything.

Literally sitting down and writing out a small schedule for yourself will take a lot of stress off of you and it'll give you more time for relaxation.

Re-Post: I Pledge...

Today's repost actually means a lot to me. Way back in August of 2010, I created a promise to myself. It's pretty much all of my morals (okay, maybe not all) wrapped up into a small, but meaningful, post.
_____________________________________________________________________________

...to never give up on the person I have feelings for.
...to be true to myself.
...to respect myself and my body.
...to let go of the pressure in my life, whether it's friends or enemies.
...to wait until I'm in love for marriage.
...to wait until marriage for sex.

Re-Post: Friends or Frenemies?

This week has brought many, many memories. I've already posted two "re-posts" in celebration of my blog's one year anniversary. Those two posts are two of my all time favorite posts on this blog.
Today I'm re-posting an old post back from November of 2010--when I was confused about my friendship with my friend Eva. Sometimes it's hard when someone you know and love changes to someone you don't want to know at all...

Re-Post: "You're beautiful, You're Beautiful, You're Beautiful, It's true...'"

My second re-post for the celebration of my blog's one year anniversary. This is my second all-time favorite post:

My confidence is at an all time low. You probably hear these things all the time. But it's a completely different thing for me. All through junior high, I was nothing but confident.

Re-Post: My Best Moments of 2010

As a celebration of my blog's, All Things Minty, 1 year anniversary, I am reposting my all time favorite posts that I have made on this blog all week long. It's always interesting to see what i posted a while back.
Today's re-post is actually pretty recent.
Enjoy.

1 Year Later...

January 23, 2010.
That was when I made my first post on this blog.

I was really excited to have an easy place where I could write down my feelings and share it with others.

My goal was to write things people would want to read, but I also had the goal of writing about things that would help others.
I wanted people who came across my blog through a search or out of curiosity to think "Wow, if she got through that, I can get through this".
I also wanted a place where if I got bored, I could come up with something completely random and have fun with it!
I got all those things when I created this blog.

Now, 12 Months, 52 Weeks, 365 days, 2 different blog names, and 146 posts later, here we are.

All Things Minty has come to it's one year anniversary.

Thank you to everyone and anyone who has ever read or come across my posts. And thank you to my regular readers who read most, if not all my posts. I may not see many comments or many followers, but I know you are reading.

Because it's All Things Minty's anniversary, I'll be re-posting four of my favorite posts throughout the week. Then I'll make a "special" post for the fifth day.

I can't wait to bring more posts, news, rants, thoughts, and fun to you all.

Feeling Good

(This is an old post back from Dec. 30th that I never got around to posting. But I haven't been posting very often, so here ya' go.)

I just got done reading a truly touching blog today.
Here's the link for anyone interested.

The thing that really got me is that this woman has two sons, and both have a disorder called Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD). Everyday is a new day of worries for her. She doesn't know what to expect or what things will happen.

She can only hope for the best.

Now I know I'm only 15, so why am I worried right?
It's not that I'm afraid of having a child with a disorder, it's that I see how hard of a life she has.
Yet she remains positive, hopes for the best, and makes the best out of her situation.

I have problems in my life, just like everyone else.
And if you've been reading my blog for a while, or you've seen some past posts, you'll know that I'm not good at dealing with my problems.

But I should feel lucky. I should be more grateful and happy with the way my life is.
Because it could have been way worse than it is now.

I always think to myself "I shouldn't have to live this way, no other girl my age lives this way"

But that's not true, and even if it is, this is my life. It doesn't have to be like everyone else's.

I need to accept that my life isn't perfect.

I hope that one day I can look back and think
"Wow, I can't believe I got through that...look at me now."
